Upcoming Film Production in Our Town
Dear Piru Residents,
I am pleased to share some exciting news for our community: HBO, a major film production company, has chosen our town as the backdrop for their next project, “Latitude”, bringing substantial benefits to our local economy. Filming in our town not only showcases our unique charm to a global audience but also generates significant income for local businesses and highlights our community as a prime location for future projects. Additionally, this will bring a significant monetary donation to our Piru Neighborhood Council that will be used directly to support our Piru community.
HBO is in the early planning stages therefore they don’t have exact activities or schedules at this moment, but they will share more details as they develop a plan and schedule. As part of this production, crews will be constructing temporary facades that will remain for approximately six months, enhancing the authenticity of the setting they envision. The overall activity will go from roughly December through July with filming starting in February. The actual filming will be grouped so that it takes place in 3 “blocks” of 1-2 weeks each over those months to minimize disruptions to the community. During those blocks, certain roads and areas may be temporarily closed, and you may notice an increase in activity and equipment in town. I understand that these disruptions can impact your routines, and I sincerely appreciate your patience and flexibility during this time.
The production team has assured us they will work to minimize inconveniences and are committed to maintaining open communication with our community throughout.
